First on the docket for the 2021 iteration of Brews In Bloom is a Nashville staple, Yazoo Brewing Company. Fun fact: Lightning 100 and Yazoo Brewing were among the first tenants at Marathon Village way before it became a hotbed for tourists and locals alike. Although they’ve since moved on from the building, you can find them at their new taproom in Madison to try out all their varieties from the year-round classics you love to the seasonal experiments that never miss the mark.
Today, Jason and Matt Leff of Rhizome productions had the pleasure of chatting with founder and brewmaster Linus Hall about Yazoo’s Czech Lager. It’s light and smooth, brewed with a mix of Pilsner, Biscuit, and Vienna malts. Perle and Aramis hops give it a bright flavor that makes this one easy to drink. And at just 4% ABV, Linus points out that you don’t have to feel guilty about knocking back three or four on the back porch.
