- Imagine Dragons – Radioactive
We gave 20 lucky fans the chance to see a private performance with Imagine Dragons before their sold out show at Cannery Ballroom. One of our listeners included lead singer, Dan Reynolds, younger brother who won tickets during the lunch request hour. Watch Imagine Dragons performs “Radioactive” live at Lightning 100. - Alabama Shakes – Hold On
Band of Horses used to wear the crown for biggest crowd at Live On the Green until Alabama Shakes performed in 2012. Check out Alabama Shakes performance “Hold On” at Live On the Green.

- Passion Pit – Take A Walk
Passion Pit performs in front of a few fans in Griffin Technology’s Pre-Show Live event at Marathon Music Works. The band was running late, so we had to cut out the interview. Michael Angelakos, lead singer of Passion Pit was a little offended by this. Check out this live version of “Take A Walk”. We’ve also recorded “Constant Conversations” and “Sleepyheads” at the show.
- The Lumineers – Classy Girl
If you heard The Lumineers first on Lightning 100, you’ve got Wells Adams to thank for that. After a few weeks of playing “Ho Hey” during our music meetings, the song made it to the airwaves. Lightning 100 was one of the first stations in the country to play The Lumineers…..and now you hear them everywhere.
- Walk The Moon – Anna Sun
The young up-and-coming band Walk the Moon stopped by the studio without their face paint. Check out their performance “Anna Sun” live at Lightning 100. We’ve also got a recording of “Tightrope” on our HD On-demand Page.
- The Head and The Heart – Down In the Valley
The Head And The Heart performs “Down In The Valley” in the Lightning 100 studio.
- Justin Townes Earle – Memphis in the Rain
Justin Townes Earle joins us in the studio sporting his new Otis James cap to performs “Memphis in the Rain” off his new album Nothing’s Ever Gonna Change The Way You Feel About Me Now. Justin is not positive he remembers the entire song, but goes for it on live radio.
- GroupLove – Colors
GroupLove in person are a very lovely group. It was a little difficult to get a sound check due to the band cracking jokes the entire time. - Old Crow Medicine Show – Mississippi Saturday Night
Before their new album debuted, the boys in Old Crow gave us a little sneak peak of the new tunes. Old Crow Medicine Show visits the Lightning 100 studio and performs “Mississippi Saturday Night” off their new album Carry Me Back.
- The Wallflowers – Reboot the Mission

- The Sheepdogs – The Way It Is
You can thank Lt. Dan for this find. The Sheepdogs are the first independent band to ever be on the cover of Rolling Stones. Check out The Sheepdogs perform “The Way It Is” at Lightning 100.
- Andrew Bird – Give It Away
Andrew Bird stopped by the studio, even though he was a little under the weather. Can you tell? We can’t. Andrew Bird gives an amazing performance of “Give It Away” in the Lightning 100 studio before he performs at Ryman Auditorium.
- Joe Robinson – Nashville Shreds

- The Weeks – Slave of the South
We first found out about The Weeks when they approved our van at Bonnaroo and offered us whiskey shots. After hearing them during a backstage performance at Bonnaroo, we had the guys into the615 to play a few tunes. The Weeks perform “Slave of the South” live in the Lightning 100 studio.
- Keane – Silence by the Night
A few lucky listeners join Lightning 100 for a sound check party with Keane! Check out this exclusive performance of “Silenced by the Night” by Keane.
- Cherub – Doses and Minmiosas
What do we do at Bonnaroo? We steal golf carts and do backstage performances. Cherub performs “Doses and Minmosas” backstage at Bonnaroo. Lightning 100 also has a backstage performance with Cherub in a hot tub at Hangout Music Festival.
- Delta Spirit – Parade
Delta Spirit performs “Parade” at Live On the Green.
