New Jersey-based songwriter Pete Yorn has been crafting beautiful Americana/Roots melodies for nearly 20 years, and has made a habit of returning to Nashville several times along the way. Before his most recent stop in Music City — for a show at The Cowan at Topgolf — Yorn dropped into the Lightning 100 studio for a chat with Lightning’s Dan Buckley and an intimate performance of two songs from opposite ends of his songwriting career. Performing “Crystal Village” from his sophomore LP Day I Forgot and “I Wanna Be The One” — a brand new song that premiered live on Lightning 100 — Yorn reminded listeners why his poignant and mesmerizing folk tunes keep us coming back again and again.
