Today’s DJ Pick of the Week goes to Cheap Trick for their newest single, “Light Up The Fire”. The track was released as the first single off of their highly anticipated 20th studio album, In Another World. The 13-track album will be released for the world to hear on April 9th this year. It will be available digitally as well as on standard black vinyl and CD via BMG.

After five decades of making music, it is truly astonishing how Cheap Trick is still making such quality rock and roll music. “The band is held together by music,” explained front man Robin Zander in a recent press release. “It’s the super glue that keeps us writing and putting records out. The reason we started the band in the first place was to tour and write songs and put records out. If all that went away, there would be no point then, would there?”

Founded in 1974, Cheap Trick has been creating highly influential music that the world has come to know and love. Members Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, and Tom Petersson use their individual talents to create oversized hooks, unique melodies and memorable guitar riffs. In Another World produced by a longtime collaborator of Cheap Trick, Julian Raymond will be the band’s first new album since 2017’s We’re All Alright! and Christmas Christmas. The single we’re spotlighting today, “Light Up the Fire” has been out for the world to hear since last week on January 28th. The song has a very robust feel to it with grungy guitars and great riffs. Check it out below!
