Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder gives fans a look into his newest solo album “Earthling” with single “Long Way.” Rev. Keith highlights “Long Way” this week as his DJ pick!
Vedder has given fans lots to listen to this year. Last month, he collaborated with Glen Hansard on the soundtrack for Sean Penn’s Flag Day. Now, Vedder plans to release not only an album, but also a limited-edition vinyl. Fans can currently preorder the limited-edition 7” vinyl featuring this week’s DJ pick, along with his next to be released single “The Haves.”
“Long Way” expresses the feeling of lost love, and how that feeling never truly leaves you. At one part, Vedder sings, “Her love was but a haunting. She left but never went away.” When someone you deeply love leaves, it never feels like they’re completely gone. There will always be a part of them that lingers behind. Vedder’s voice conveys that feeling perfectly with his raspy notes and haunting melodies.
Eddie Vedder has also decided to hit the road again and finally get back to live performances. Later this month, he will be doing a solo show at the Ohana Festival in California, and then Pearl Jam will close out the festival.
