Nashville natives Goodbye June released their newest single “Step Aside,” giving fans a look into their newest album. “Step Aside” is the first single off of album “See Where The Night Goes,” set to be released next year. Goodbye June kicks it off with a song that’s at the heart of rock ‘n roll, which has given it the spot as Jayson’s DJ pick of the week.

Goodbye June first showed up to the music scene in 2017 and has found inspiration in their favorite bands. From the likes of Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith, the band notes that it is all about the music. The group, made up of three cousins, explained to Earache why they want to bring that sound back to the 21st century.

“When you put on a Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, or Rolling Stones record, it’s music that matters. You’re familiar with it, but it doesn’t sound like anything else. That’s our goal when we sit down to write. We promise that’s never going to change.”

You can definitely hear those influences in “Step Aside” with Milbourn’s raspy vocals and their western-style music video. Even with those influences, the song is still something unique and not what you get from many bands nowadays. It brings true 80s rock ‘n roll back to the music scene.

“See Where The Night Goes” is scheduled to be released on February 18, and “Step Aside” gets fans excited for what the album will include. The epic music video for “Step Aside” pays homage to the group’s southern roots and sets the mood for the rest of the album. Check it out below:
