Casey’s DJ pick for this week is “Headsweat” by The Foxies. The song is dynamic, instrumentally and lyrically. It combines classic rock with early 2000s pop/punk. The track dropped on June 9 and is the first single off the band’s debut album Who Are You Now, Who Were You Then? The Nashville-based band announced the album on Instagram in May.
The trio – Julia Lauren Bullock, Jake Ohlbaum and Rob Bodley – have been releasing singles regularly for the past two years. The band’s EP Growing Up is Dead hit streamers in 2020.
Their most streamed song? The bass-lead track “Timothée Chalamet.”
And in 2021, the band opened for rock legend Billy Idol.
