This week’s Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week is Kristen Englenz, with her newest single, “Silly Silly Silly.”
Kristen Englenz is a local americana artist that broke out into the music scene in Atlanta. Her music career began in college where she learned to blend the traditional techniques of music with her own creative ideas while studying fine art. She’s always growing in her craft, and her talents won her the 2020 International Songwriting Competition. Now she’s arming her work with the Grammy-nominated producer, Aaron Lee Tasjan, and their collective talents bring us her latest single, “Silly Silly Silly!”
Compared to her award-winning gospel hit “Pray For Rain,” “Silly Silly Silly” dives right into the indie pop genre, expanding her depth as an artist. Through her lyrics, “silly, silly, silly I fell again wanting what can’t be mine,” she shares the silly feeling of falling in love with the wrong person. Sonically, the track is a bright upbeat pop song to dance with your friends to, and Tasjan’s influence is the perfect accompaniment. This contrast is the perfect example of how multifaceted Englenz is in her writing, and her career as a whole. Get you an americana artist that can do both!
If you’re sick of feeling silly with love, dance away your worries with “Silly Silly Silly!” This track comes out on October 13th, but you can catch Lightning 100 spinning this track exclusively all week long.
Tune in to 100.1 FM and lightning100.com all week to hear “Silly, Silly, Silly ” by Kristen Englenz, our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week!
