On today’s episode of community corner we’re sitting down with Allie Wallace! Allie is the Interim Co-Executive Director at Open Table Nashville. After volunteering with Open Table Nashville since its founding in 2010, Allie officially joined the organization’s staff in August 2019 as an operations coordinator. Prior to this role, she spent five years as a pastor at a local church in Goodlettsville and obtained her Masters of Divinity from Lipscomb University in 2019. Allie’s academic pursuits have focused on theology, and she has a particular interest in the connections between spirituality and justice. Her enthusiasm towards working with the homeless community exemplifies the core values the Open Table Nashville team.

Although their journey began before, Open Table Nashville was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2011 with a mission to address homelessness through outreach. As an organization, they aim to break the cycle of poverty, support the marginalized, and raise awareness about homelessness. Allie touches on the organization’s story and values while acknowledging the dehumanization homelessness promotes and Open Table exists to combat.
