“I Gotta Know” by Rosetta is Casey DJ Pick of the Week!
Since 2022, local Nashville band Rosetta has been bringing the rock scene new life. With a style that could be described as a mix of psychedelic and classic rock with a unheard twist; the dedicated trio sites Hendrix, Cream, and other earlier rockers as their inspiration.
After the release of their first self-titled EP, the group continued to work hard in the Nashville scene. Rosetta has booked locally renowned venues such as The Basement and The End. They have also returned to the studio as of early 2024, working on further developing their sound.
Rosetta’s new single “I Gotta Know” is a result of this new studio era.
With energetic and gritty guitar riffs and punchy drums, the song feels like the opening act of your favorite 80s rock artists. Much of this album is recorded in historic Oceanway Studio A and B, and produced by the band. This single is influenced by legendary sounds such as Rival Sons, Black Keys, and The White Stripes.
“I Gotta Know” is a rebellious rock anthem, with themes reminiscent of hair rock. Lead singer Luke Moran repeats, “Please please just tell me / What I outta know”. The lyrical work illustrats a frustrating and agitated scene of someone trying to fix something uncompromising.
