Lt. Dan’s Pick of The Week is “Relentless” by Maggie Rose!
Local country darling Maggie Rose has broken into 2025 with her new single “Relentless”. This powerful track follows her album “No One Gets Out Alive” released last year which received a nomination for Best Americana Album at the Grammys. Through her move from Maryland to Nashville she’s seen hardships and genre shifts, but her profoundly rich voice just keeps getting better as she continues to hone her sound. This new single “Relentless” showcases Rose’s vocal prowess in a perfectly modern country space. “Relentless” makes it clear that Maggie Rose is entering this next chapter empowered, with clarity and wisdom.
“Relentless” is a track that will undoubtedly get you out of that summer slump. Rose is not only expressing resurgence, she’s empowering us to feel it too. The pre chorus resounds, “There’s sharks in the water / there’s snakes in the grass / but you’re done crying over / a half empty glass”. This line demands that the listener live through life relentlessly. I imagine Rose stands, feet planted, belting with rolling power, as gorgeous keyboards and lead guitars energize. Further on, the bridge reminds, “You gotta heal it / so you can deal with it.” Her unrelenting performance through the duration of this track is stunning, as if her own message propels her forward.
