Nashville local, Paul McDonald is back with his newest single “Dark Side”! McDonald has proven his talent and lasting presence through his influence as frontman of Hightide Blues and The Grand Magnolias. Additionally, he has found success on American Idol, and through his collaboration with Nikki Reed being featured in Twilight Breaking Dawn Soundtrack. McDonald skillfully showcases his dynamic vocals and seamless combination of folk, blues, and Americana throughout his discography. He has had a unique and uplifting presence in Nashville and helped start the One Big Love Festival featuring various folk artists including Susto, Aaron Lee Tasjan, and Margo Price.
McDonald proves both his character and talent on his most recent single “Dark Side”. The lyrics are written about McDonald’s personal experience of being in a dark place that was filled with self sabotage and how he found the power within himself to overcome these times through positive thinking. His lyrics speak for themself with lines like “I wanna be free / I wanna be wild / I want to see you through the eye’s of a child”. The song pulls listeners in and leaves them feeling uplifted and ready to say “So long to the dark side”. McDonald’s newest album is set to release July 11th featuring “Dark Side”!
