Prior to their Basement East and Grimey’s appearances, the guys from Cage the Elephant stopped by the studio to share some tunes from their highly anticipated fourth album, Tell Me I’m Pretty. The band performed “Trouble” and “Mess Around” and discussed the process of making this album, from production to performance. With the help of producer Dan Auerbach, the guys tell us that this album felt organic from its inception and continues to grow as it’s performed.
“Come back in about thirty years. I hope by then I’ll have bionic legs and I’ll be stronger than ever.” – Matt
Led by Matt Shultz, Cage the Elephant has left a lasting impact on Nashville, gaining a reputation for delivering an energetic and nearly “chaotic” live show experience, which has left us wondering if Matt fears anything during a performance.
Matt’s answer? “No. Not really. But wouldn’t that be weird if I did? If I was like ‘Yes I’ve already thought about every possible injury that I could incur?’”
Stay safe out there, boys.
