Lightning 100’s Casey interviewed The Medium on-air before their performance later this evening at Thunderground! They performed two of their songs, “The Groove” and “Good ol’ Days.” The band is based here in Nashville and met by chance: Sam and Shane met at Belmont University, then met Michael at a concert and Jared at a construction job. They just put out their first single, “Good ol’ Days,” and are currently working on their first album. They chatted with Casey about their new single, plans for the album, and the unique recording process they had to do for “Good ol’ Days.” Listen to their interview and performances below!

Check out The Medium on November 1st at The Basement East with Pet Envy, Waker, and The Roosevelts for Lightning 100’s Thunderground. Keep up with future Lightning events at The Basement East here.

Casey is that rarest of creatures…a Native Tennesseean. His love of music can be traced to the day his dad sat him down and played him Bo Diddley’s “Who Do You Love?” Everything pretty much changed after that. He began his broadcasting career at the age of 14 at an AM station in Northern Middle Tennessee. It was there he learned how to cue vinyl records, splice tape with razor blades, and other skills that no longer serve any purpose. In the late nineties, he was the host of our evening show until management decided that probably wasn’t a good idea anymore. Casey returned to Nashville airwaves in 2016. When he isn’t on the air, he spends his time with his wife and son. He would also appreciate it if you’d get offa his lawn.
