Lt. Dan is joined by the very special guests, Andrew Slater and Jakob Dylan to chat about their sold-out screening of “Echo in the Canyon”. Those lucky enough to grab a ticket to the Belcourt event were treated to a full screening of the film, Q&A with Slater and Dylan, plus an exclusive live music experience featuring Jakob Dylan with Jade Castrinos and the Echo in the Canyon band!
As the director, Andrew Slater was on set every day to tell this story of the Laurel Canyon music scene through the artists that were there. Through the stories of Eric Clapton, Michelle Phillips, and David Crosby, Slater is producing a look at the roots of the historic music scene in L.A. Accompanied by a stellar soundtrack featuring Jakob Dylan and the band playing music of The Beach Boys, The Byrds, and Buffalo Springfield, and more! The guys won’t give too many spoilers, so you’ll have to see the film to get the whole story, plus incredible interviews. Possibly the most powerful includes one of Tom Petty’s final interviews, captured by “Echo in the Canyon” for the next generation of music lovers.
The camaraderie of musicians and songwriters in Laurel Canyon is unparalleled in Slater’s eyes! The unique community of artists inspired and supported each other, and this project is meant to share that with the world. You can check out the film for yourself, and pick up a copy of the soundtrack to get the full experience. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
