Friday’s are usually big days for musicians but had a particularly busy day last Friday. Between an album release, an in-store performance at Grimey’s and exclusive in-studio performance and interview with Casey, The Secret Sisters certainly had plenty more on their Friday schedule than most artists.

Stripped-down performances of “Cabin” and “Nowhere, Baby” from their new album “Saturn Return” showed the sisterly duo expanding on their signature sound of angelic harmonies and vulnerable lyrics. For their fourth album, the sisters spread their wings and crafted a record that encompasses all the sounds that have shaped them over the years.

“It’s been a long time coming. We’ve had this record made for over a year now. So it’s been in our back pocket for a long time and it just feels really good to finally have it out in the world.”

With plenty of rave reviews already coming in from publications like Rolling Stone and American Songwriter, the band can certainly feel comfortable in knowing their creative efforts have connected with many audiences.

Originally from the Muscle Shoals area, Laura and Lydia Rogers of The Secret Sisters grew up on bluegrass music but never truly went down that path. By recording their album with Grammy-winning artist and producer Brandi Carlile, the sisters got a chance to really see their music and songs blossom in new ways.

“We were both kinda feeling some growing pains and wanting to stretch a little bit.”

Their new album “Saturn Forever” is out everywhere now, and The Secret Sisters will be on tour throughout the rest of 2020.
