Emerging indie punk rock band BadCulture sings with raw emotion on their 2021 single “Wake Up.” A local band from East Nashville, BadCulture is quite in tune with the Nashville music scene. From performing shows at The 5 Spot to being featured on Casey’s 615 Saturday, the group is only just getting started. “Wake Up” is Casey’s DJ Pick of the Week!
Jules, Alex, Skylar, and Josh came together to form BadCulture through their love for their city and its music. “Theres a town outside the city of Nashville, Tennessee where we spent our childhood and the beginning of our young adulthood. Suffocating yet a bit inspiring,” the band writes. Each of their tracks explores this idea of breaking free from the past, yet inspiring towards the future.
“Wake Up” has head banging drums and an electric chorus to pump up any crowd. In addition, the lyrics encourage audiences to get up and explore the world around them. “Just enjoy yourselves, forget everybody else,” echoes in the chorus, reminding us to have some fun in life.
