“She’ll Change” by Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway is Casey’s DJ Pick of the Week! Molly Tuttle is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Nashville. She is best known for her guitar prowess, earning multiple awards for her advanced playing. While growing up in California, she found a passion for bluegrass through her father and grandfather. She joined her father’s band at age 11, and has played in several other groups since then, including Golden Highway. Her musical style varies, with inspiration from country, folk, and bluegrass genres.
The chemistry between Tuttle and her bluegrass band Golden Highway allows for interesting creative choices in “She’ll Change”. The song is extremely upbeat, and features various bluegrass instruments, from rhythmic guitar and banjo to the melodic fiddle and violin parts. The instruments play at a high skill level on top of the fast pace, enhancing the overall listening experience. Meanwhile, Tuttle’s vocals are light but powerful, with complex rhythms in line with the instruments.
“She’ll Change” is one of thirteen songs on Tuttle’s upcoming album Crooked Tree. Pre-orders and pre-saves for the album, which releases April 1st, are available here. In addition, Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway embark on a joint tour this spring, starting with a Nashville show March 28th.
