Casey’s DJ Pick of the week is “Moonflower” by Elise Davis! Elise Davis is a Nashville-based Americana artist originally from Arkansas. Her music blends the lines of country and alternative rock, with beautiful storytelling lyrics. Davis began writing songs at the age of 12, and played countless shows throughout college until landing her first publishing deal in 2013. Since her debut 2013 debut EP, she has released three full-length studio albums, toured with Ray Lamontagne, and has co-written multiple songs with Maren Morris.
“Moonflower” is one of three singles released so far this year from Elise Davis since her album Anxious. Happy. Chill. was released last year. “Moonflower” is a beautiful, subdued track with hints of spooky synths and bells. In a post announcing the release of the song, Davis said she “wrote this song reflecting on [her] much wilder days”. “Moonflower” is joined by other recent singles “Lens” and “Anita” for Davis’ currently unnamed album set to be released in October of this year.
