A lot has happened in the past year since Boy Named Banjo last came to visit us here in the Volume.com studio. The five-member ensemble sat down with DJ Jayson to sing a couple new songs and discuss some exciting updates. To begin their set, the boys premiered an unreleased song, “Lonely In This Town.” To follow, they performed a single released earlier this year, “Heart In Motion.”
The latter was written in early 2020 during a long bus ride from Portland to Nashville, as the members yearned to get back to their families. Not long into their first headline tour, news broke of the Covid-19 outbreak. Despite trying circumstances, the band was signed to Universal Music Group just a couple weeks later- the first to be signed to UMG over a Zoom meeting. The band has recently been touring with Kip Moore and has even more to look forward to in 2023.
Don’t miss Boy Named Banjo’s hometown headline show at Brooklyn Bowl this Friday, November 25th! They will be joined with special guests, Stephen Wilson Jr. and Ryan Sobb and the Dead Mall.
