There’s nothing like some Monday Night brews to cure those Monday Blues! We’re kicking off Day 6 and Week 2 of Hoptober with two beers for you, courtesy of Monday Night Brewing. DJ Jayson and Matt from Rhizome Productions sat down to chat about two brews, the Space Lettuce & Drafty Kilt.
First up is Space Lettuce, which the perfect double IPA for all you hot heads out there. This 8.1% ABV beer is seasonal, and you can find it at your specialty beer store. This beer has got a ton of hops in it, including Citra, Mosaic, Manderina, and Simco. The moment you crack open a Space Lettuce those flavors really captivate the senses, yet they aren’t overpowering. Monday Night Brewing recommends you pair this brew with some spicy food, so be sure to grab some Nashville hot chicken and a Space Lettuce to start off your Monday night right!
Next, Matt and Jayson taste Monday Night Brewing’s “OG” beer, the Drafty Kilt Scotch Ale. It’s another big beer clocking in around 7.2% ABV. The Drafty Kilt has a roasty yet refreshing taste for a dark beer, complete with Columbus and Willamette hops. Unlike the Space Lettuce, this beer can be found year-round at grocery stores and on tap. Monday Night Brewing recommends it with a nice plate of turkey, so it’s an especially perfect choice with Thanksgiving coming up!
Though Monday Night Brewing is based out of Atlanta, they’re about to open a new taproom in Birmingham, Alabama! It’s got great outdoor spaces to enjoy some brews. So if you’re looking for a weekend getaway, be sure to head down and check it out.
