Amos Lee, one of our favorite artists here at Lightning 100, performed a secret show live in the Lightning 100 studio for a few lucky ticket winners. Despite the rain (and an on-air interruption by an emergency weather alert), Amos lit up the room with singles “Vaporize” and “Spirit” on-air for our listeners. Amos showed his love for the music scene in Nashville and talked with Lt. Dan Buckley about Musicians On Call, an organization he supports that brings music to the bedside of patients, families and caregivers in hospitals. Although he is a skilled guitar player now, he told listeners that he didn’t pick up the guitar until college and even after mastering it, was not ready to play his music for three or four more years. He sang his older single “Windows Rolled Down” for our in-studio audience, as well as the first song he ever publicly performed, Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come”. Check out the audio of Amos Lee, live from Lightning 100 here and hurry to get tickets to see Amos at the Ascend Amphitheater September 16, 2016!
