Originally meeting their freshman year of college at Belmont University, the group began playing at house shows and local DIY venues. Making Nashville their home base, the band has performed all around the world. From appearances at Bonnaroo, and Rochester International Jazz Festival, to sharing the stage with Billy Strings and The Motet, The Aquaducks bring newness and nostalgia into their high-energy, soul-driven sound.
“Fresh” is a groovy number with seamless breakdowns and spacious solo sections. The lead vocal is laced with soulful grit and lifted by catchy, lighthearted lyrics. Sonically, the upbeat melody echoes the storyline of self-love. The refrain, “Swagger in my step, oh I must confess, I’m feeling myself, feeling super fresh,” makes an optimistic hook for the ear. “Fresh” has hard syncopating bass lines and a family of counter-playing instruments that breathe new life into the genre. The Aquaducks create a new wave of the funk music that you dont want to miss.
