Lightning 100 is excited to announce Emma Swift as our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week with her song “Nothing And Forever”!

Emma Swift is an Australian-born, Nashville-based artist known for turning deep emotion into art. Her latest single, “Nothing And Forever,” is no exception. It is the first track on her upcoming album The Resurrection Game, due September 11 on Tiny Ghost Records. Swift first gained wide acclaim in 2020 with Blonde on the Tracks, a reimagining of Bob Dylan songs through a Laurel Canyon lens. The album was praised by Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and No Depression. Now, she returns with original music that is even more personal.

Emma Swift’s new single “Nothing And Forever” is described as “a dreamy, romantic song about big love.” Swift wrote the track in London. It was recorded on the Isle of Wight inside a 16th-century abbey. That setting seeps into the sound; it feels timeless and intimate, like a memory you cannot quite place. While this song leans romantic, it is part of an album born from a much darker place. Swift has spoken openly about the mental health crisis that shaped The Resurrection Game. Writing and recording the songs became part of her recovery. “I am a big believer in the redemptive power of art,” she says. “Nothing And Forever” shows that clearly. It is tender, honest, and full of heart. Even in its softness, it does not shy away from truth.
