4 Square Roofing: Local Business Spotlight

This week’s local business spotlight is nothing if not topical. However, to be fully transparent, we actually sat down with James Hamilton, the founder of 4 Square Roofing on Monday afternoon, twelve hours before a tornado ripped through Nashville and surrounding communities in Middle Tennessee. When we met as an editorial team to discuss a plan for releasing this edition of the Local Business Spotlight, we ultimately decided that it was absolutely in the best interest of our community to learn more about a local contractor worthy of your trust.

On first glance it seems serendipitous, even prophetic, that 4 Square Roofing’s motto reads “restoring Middle Tennessee one roof at a time.” In reality, the local contractors at 4 Square Roofing don’t have a crystal ball – rather they find success through preparation and experience. Founder James Hamilton, a Nashville native, knows firsthand what storm damage can do to a community. He watched in 1998 as a tornado wreaked havoc on East Nashville near his high school and again in 2010 as floods left hundreds of homes in the Cumberland river basin uninhabitable.

“A lot of times folks don’t realize how bad storm damage can be. They may notice a missing shingle or two – but it really takes a roofing professional [to assess the damage].”

In these delicate times, communities are more vulnerable than ever. In the face of seemingly insurmountable costs, it’s easy for homeowners and business owners to be taken advantage of by out-of-town contractors promising repair work at rock bottom prices. Unfortunately, stories of unlicensed builders, shoddy repair work, and even complete scams are common across Nashville following natural disasters. That’s precisely why now, more than ever, it’s important that you can trust the people working on your home.

With 4 Square Roofing, every repair job is done to code. Before even taking a job, they’ll come out to your house for a no-cost, no-obligation roof inspection, ensuring that you’ll know exactly what kind of project you’re getting into. Now let’s say you’re having trouble figuring out what portion of the repair you’ll be on the hook for – and how much insurance is going to cover. James and the team at 4 Square Roofing frequently work directly with your insurance provider to make sure you’re paying as little out of pocket as possible.

Of course, roof repair isn’t one-size-fits-all. Here’s what’s on the menu at 4 Square Roofing:

  • Commercial Roofing
  • Residential Roofing
  • Roof Repairs / Storm Damage
  • 24/7 Emergency Roofing within 20 miles of downtown Nashville
  • Total Roof Replacements
  • Roof Inspections
