For the loyal listeners out there, Jackson Bruck is a familiar name. You helped crown Jackson Bruck and the Dukes of Hume champions of Music City Mayhem in 2018, and they’ve been on an upward trajectory ever since! They went on to play at Live On The Green and even landed a slot at Nashville’s Let Freedom Sing! Independence Day celebration in 2019. Their electrifying live show draws on the big band feel of Springsteen, but with a southern charm that’s uniquely Nashvillian.

This week we feature the latest single “Queen of Birmingham” off of the Dukes’ first full length album, The Golden Road. “Many songs off “The Golden Road” have been companions of mine for a decade now” says Bruck. “It channels inspiration from the artists and poets I grew up on, but stands alone as a Dukes of Hume sound. It was very important for us to release an LP, as The Golden Road is meant to be listened to as a collective.

The track’s soothing instrumentation is sure to resonate with fans of CSNY and Jackson Browne, but the extra dose of reverb and pad synthesizers (maybe really “verbed-out” guitars?) give it a modern feel that make us think “Queen of Birmingham” will stand the test of time.

We’ll be spinning “Queen of Birmingham” throughout the week as we feature Jackson Bruck and the Dukes of Hume as our Local Artist of the Week. Catch it live on-air at 100.1FM on your dial or streaming live at lightning100.com
