Jasmin Kaset is Lightning 100’s Local Artist of the Week! The Nashville-based singer-songwriter simultaneously dropped two new singles back in October. According to Kaset’s website, “these two tracks [highlight Kaset’s] diversity of songwriting both lyrically and stylistically.” The two tracks, “Have You Met Me Yet?” and “I Will Never Let You Go From Me,” were initially released exclusively on Bandcamp but are now available on streaming services.
When describing each single, Kaset states that “I Will Never Let You Go From Me” is a song that “echoes back to Prince style balladry, complete with those booming drums that only 80’s production could muster.” She also describes “Have You Met Me Yet?” as “a rock leaning barn burner.” “Have You Met Me Yet?” was recently featured by Lightning 100 as Casey’s DJ pick of the week. Kaset released “Have You Met Me Yet?” and “I Will Never Let You Go From Me” through yk records. “Have You Met Me Yet” was accompanied by a music video that you can check out on yk record’s YouTube channel.
