Jayson’s DJ Pick of the Week is the newest track from Lindsey Lomis, “Long Way Down!”
The young Nashville local is the newest force in the pop scene. The 21-year-old has been able to blend the newest trends in music with her relatable lyrics to make a sound that’s uniquely her own. “Long Way Down” reigns from her upcoming EP Handle With Care, set to release on March 29.
“Long Way Down” follows the release of the title track, “Handle With Care” in 2023. These two songs are sonically different, but highlight her vocals and artistry beautifully. “Long Way Down” is the pop princess song of the summer. The track, laced with alt-rock influences, is still perfectly pop at its core. It’s a true testament to the musicality of Lomis to create something so delicately intricate.
Lomis noted that this release is “the full perspective of who I am now; it’s just me, 100% through and through.” This is something that proves evident in her entire discography. Having started at the age of seventeen, Lomis has been able to sonically document her coming of age story. Handle With Care, in this regard, is set to be a homage to her coming into adulthood.
Hitting the road this year as a part of Jacob Collier’s band, Lomis is bound to elevate her own live show, and meet new fans along the way. She’s the artist to watch this year, without a doubt.
