Lightning 100 announces Multi Ultra as our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week! The 2023 Music City Mayhem Champions have continued to build on the stellar sound that won them last year’s title.
Multi Ultra does not shy away from what makes them special. They proudly combine their unique display of edge with lyrics that often contain narratives around their hometown of Nashville and many other experiences, all from an alternative perspective. They are highly regarded for these efforts, as they were voted as one of the 3 Best Bands in Nashville Scene’s Best Of Nashville consecutively for two years, as well as making it as a semifinalist in the International Songwriting Competition. Their growth and achievements speak to their talent and dedication as a group.
Their newest single “Eastside” pays homage to our beloved Music City.The song takes us into a side of the city we do not often see represented. Among the commercial buildings and country music lies a hefty alternative seen. These “vampires” mentioned in the song, do not experience Nashville in the same way as those who stay on the surface. These folks have experienced the city before the boom, and are insistent that they still belong, fighting to keep their sacred parts of the city alive. The compelling track exposes a different side of Nashville and the people that call it home.
