On June 24th, Lightning 100 had the privilege of collaborating with Casio, America Inc. at Summer Namm 2016. We had some talented artists come into our live broadcast and play the Celviano Grand Hybrid GP- 500, a keyboard that has the appearance and sound of a real grand piano. However, underneath lies a hybrid system of both digital and acoustic technology.
Its performance capability was tested by singer Anna Haas, who immediately recognized the piano’s sound and feel. Her voice can be soft, intimate, and then explode with tremendous courage and volume. The keyboard complimented Haas’ musical dynamic perfectly. Casio’s hybrid keyboard has incredible action that creates a grand piano sound, but compacts its size and presence. The two-song set Anna Haas put on shows both the keyboard’s quality, and Haas’ ability to capture a room with her voice.
