Cory Wong, Scott Mulvahill and an ensemble of wickedly talented musicians lit up the 3rd and Lindsley stage during Nashville Sunday Night on Jan. 19.

Nashville Sunday Night alum, seasoned bassist and multi-instrumentalist Mulvahill took the stage to kick off the live broadcast. Highlighting his solo album “Himalayas,” Mulvahill melded rock, folk, bluegrass and jazz effortlessly into his set. Songs like “Gold Plated Lie” had the crowd swaying from side to side, while songs like “The Lord is Coming” kept the audience transfixed on Mulvahill’s mesmerizing bass playing and impressive vocals.

Following Mulvahill’s set, Wong and his band took the stage to uproarious applause. The band wasted no time before kicking into a set of funky instrumentals, epic solos and fantastic guest features, with frequent collaborator and Nashville-local Cody Fry joining Wong for a rocking rendition of Fry’s song “Better.” Wong even hopped on lead vocals for a powerful performance of his song “Today I’m Gonna Get Myself a Real Job.” Wong’s signature set of mind-bending musicianship will definitely be a Nashville Sunday Night performance to remember.
