Sam Lewis opened the show with a tight-knit band playing his breezy, old school soul-style songs. He’s previously toured with Chris Stapleton, who referred to him as “a modern Townes Van Zandt”.
The crowd recognized his song “3/4 Time” right away as it’s a favorite and still spinning here at Lightning 100 and appears on his most recent album, Waiting On You, recorded at the legendary Southern Ground Studios in Nashville. Lewis also treated us to some new unreleased songs that were really well received by the packed house at 3rd and Lindsley.
Nashville Sunday Night is a special presentation of Nashville’s Independent Radio, Lightning 100. Each Sunday night Lightning 100 broadcasts a concert from 3rd and Lindsley, one of Nashville’s finest live music venues. Along with Robert Randolph & the Family Band, the June 25th show featured Sam Lewis.
