Cannons is a trio made up of Ryan Clapham, Paul Davis, and Michelle Joy. Clapham and Davis were childhood friends and always wanted to start a band, their vision finally came to fruition when they crossed paths with Michelle Joy and Cannons was born in 2013. Their song, “Fire For You” is coming at you as Rev. Keith’s DJ Pick of the Week .
“Fire For You” is a track off of the band’s 2019 album, Shadows. It is a funky, synth heavy, electro pop tune. Michelle Joy’s vocals are smooth and contrast so well with the pulsing baseline and unique production. The lyrics tell the age old tale of knowing someone is not good for you and still being so enamored by them, or as Cannons say, being on fire for them.

“Fire For You” fully encapsulates raw emotions and questionable choices in love. The song was placed in the Netflix original series Never Have I Ever, a coming of age teenage love story, where those themes are ever present.
