“Covered in Sunshine” by local band Goldpark is Casey’s DJ Pick of the Week! The alternative rock band’s latest single offers a new insight to their upcoming EP Goldpark 2.
Along with energetic drums and a groovy bass-line, the song’s lyrics add to the feel-good message of the track. Wes Hunter, the trio’s lead singer says, “’Covered in Sunshine’ is about the power of stepping outside. All of these problems, anxieties, and fears that have come from a reliance on technology feel a little less heavy when we step into the sunlight. That’s where we realize where ‘real life’ actually lives. Being a ‘part of life’ isn’t being fully connected at all times with the world around us through a viewfinder. It’s being a part of the outside world we forget about so often.”
The band has found a more focused sound and approach to their new EP. The band expands on their latest project saying,“We had the right songs, the right producer, and the right spirit. This body of work is the best representation of who we are and where we are going. We hope this EP makes people smile.”
