I DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, shorted to IDKHow, is a two-piece band made up of bass player Dallon Weekes and drummer Ryan Seaman. Weekes was a member of Panic at the Disco from 2009 to 2017, while Seaman was the drummer for Falling in Reverse. Both members’ past roles in pop punk and rock bands have influenced IDKHow’s sound. IDKHow formed in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2016. Fearless Records signed them in August of 2018. Under Fearless, the duo released their debut album, RAZZMATAZZ, on October 23rd, 2020. “Leave Me Alone”, the first song off the album, is Rev’s DJ Pick of the Week!

“Leave Me Alone” is an upbeat, synth-driven track that combines 2000s pop punk with classic 80s sounds. David Bowie’s influence can be heard all over the track. In an interview with NME, Weekes shared about what inspired the song: “When you’re in a toxic situation, the phrase ‘Leave Me Alone’ is the last civil thing you say before things get uncivil.” “Leave Me Alone” is a great introduction to all of RAZZMATAZZ, which mixes elements of indie-pop, new wave, glam rock, and electronic through its twelve tracks. Tim Pagnotta of early 2000s pop punk band Sugar Cult produced the album.

IDKHow released a music video for “Leave Me Alone” that highlights pandemic-era concerns as the band performs behind plastic. The video simultaneously digs into the song’s theme of separating oneself from bad situations and people. Check it out below!
