Bio:

Matt grew up in Kingsport, Tennessee and was involved with music from a young age. He started writing songs and playing the drums at age 4 and would often perform with his brother, Mike Mahaffey, when they were growing up. By age eleven, he was playing drums at Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s theme park in Pigeon Forge. In the mid-nineties he moved to Murfreesboro, TN and attended MTSU where he would live and work for 10 years and co-founded Spongebath Records. He also formed the band Self in 1994.  In the early 2000s, Matt relocated from Murfreesboro to Los Angeles, in order to be closer to his record label and to produce.

Brian "the web guy" is a Nashville native that grew up on radio and Grimey's New and Preloved Music. Seasoned communications professional that has immersed himself in the Nashville community while connecting local musicians, businesses, non-profits, unicorns, and transplants. Starting in 2008, Brian has worked with programming, marketing, sales, and promotion. Roles have included but not limited to copywriting, digital sales, content creation, sponsorship, video production, graphic design, booking, event creation, social media posting, and targeted ad purchasing.

  1. I knew that the band name sounded familiar. Go Matt!!! I went to MTSU and was a huge follower of sElf along with the other bands on Spongebath.

    Good to hear him back on the radio!!
