Mel’s DJ Pick of the Week is “Prophit (ft. Fred Schneider)” by Trapdoor Social! This track is from the Los Angeles-based band’s upcoming sophomore record. Skylar Funk is the lead vocalist for the band and is backed by guitarist Louie Gonzalez and drummer Grant Dickerson. Along with producing a new take on the traditional rock genre, the trio also create solar powered music festivals!
“Prophit” features B-52’s Fred Schneider! The collaboration started during the two bands 2021 tour together! The song offers a an energetic alternative rock tune. According to Buzzbands LA, Funk wrote, “[The song] is the totally believable story of a definitely legit religious prophet who, most certainly by accident, found his new line of work to be quite profitable.”
