This week’s ONErpm Hitmaker Alert is “Make It Right” by The Main Squeeze! Based in Indiana, The Main Squeeze is stepping into the spotlight with ease- and this spotlight happens to be a disco ball. The members of this groovy band met in college at Indiana University. However, the two founding members of the band knew each other far earlier than that. In an interview with Chicago Music Guide, drummer Reuben Gingrich explains, “Smiley and Max, our keyboard and guitar player, met at this Jewish sleepaway camp and they’ve been playing music there for 7 or 8 years and went to IU. All of us went to IU and that’s where we formed the band”.

“Make It Right” was written during casual conversation that turned nostalgic. It’s danceable beat, funky bass line and precise vocals make for an irresistible tune. The Main Squeeze is on tour right now, and will be stopping at Nashville’s own Exit/In on May 5th. If you leave now, you can dance all the way through Nashville traffic and make it just in time for the show! However, you’ll need the right song to listen to on the way.
