Lydia Luce Saline

Our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week is Lydia Luce, with “Saline!”

As someone who’s played violin for legends such as Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson, Lydia Luce has made it clear that she’s making a name for herself, & that she’s here to stay. Lydia Luce is a vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. She’s been releasing her solo music since 2015, but aims for her latest project to mirror the complexity of her inner self. Her new album, Florida Girl, out on October 27th, showcases Lydia’s emotional vulnerability in a dreamlike state.

“Saline,” the 5th single off of Florida Girl, begins with an acoustic, hazy introduction. Then in a snap, we’re greeted by a quick drum and guitar rhythm that guides us through the song. “Saline” is a track full of yearning and promise. With lyrics like, “What’s it gonna take to show you that I’m not leaving?” And “I am here to stay,” repeated in the bridge, it’s clear that this song is meant as a testament to her loyalty for someone. This is a track full of surprises and beautiful lyricism that will make your heart swoon.
