What a delight it is to be back in full swing after our two-year hiatus! We kicked off Friday with an energetic set from Seratones who were joined by Kentucky Gentlemen and members of Black Opry. Despite the threat of rain, crowds continued to roll in throughout the day to catch Sweet Lizzy Project, The Wild Feathers, The Shindellas, and The Foxies. As the sun went down, Colony House commanded the stage declaring that ‘Live On The Green is one of their favorite festivals in the whole wide world.’ We couldn’t agree more.

The finale of the night was saved for hometown heroes, Moon Taxi, a band we’ve spent over a decade cheering on. In 2009, they were our inaugural Music City Mayhem champions and on Friday night, they are now headlining our Live On The Green Music Festival. Opening with “Let The Record Play,” the raucous set also included a few wild card covers like George Michael’s “Careless Whisper,” 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up,” a drum solo to “Eleanor Rigby” by The Beatles, and a brand new original song, “Set Yourself Free” as hundreds of balloons were set free into the crowd. The night ended with all hands in the air, as Trevor Terndrup and crew belted out their 2017 hit, “Two High.”

But don’t just take it from us – see what other folks are saying:

“The festival’s triumphant return after such a lengthy pause was a reminder of just how lucky we are to enjoy so many high-caliber performances right on our doorstep — for free, no less.” – Nashville Scene

And the celebration continues tonight! The music kicks off at 4:30pm CT with Phillip-Michael Scales, The 502s, Los Colognes, Ruby Amanfu, Amber Woodhouse, Cautious Clay, *repeat repeat and Santigold. The full schedule + VIP ticket upgrades are available online at LiveOnTheGreen.com. See you there!
