Lt. Dan’s DJ Pick for this week is “Lie Lie Lie” the new track from Marcus King. The song is a stellar follow up to “Hard Working Man” which is currently climbing the AAA chart. “Lie Lie Lie” combines outstanding guitar and bass with King’s cosmic lyrics. He co-write the track with producer and Black Keys vocalist Dan Auerbach.
King released “Lie Lie Lie” as a single from his upcoming second album Young Blood.
King’s sound feels like he traveled back time, learned from the best rock stars in the world, and then brought a finished album to all of us here in 2022. We met King with 2020’s El Dorado and he’s back with a tenacity held only by the fiercest of rock stars.
Sophomore slump? Not a chance.
After the final dates of his current tour, he’ll hit the stage again this fall. He’s kicking off The Young Blood Tour in Philadelphia and plans to stop in Nashville Sept. 29-30 for two nights at The Ryman.
