Casey’s DJ pick of the week is “Everybody’s Talkin’” (ft. Wilderado) by Josiah and The Bonnevilles.

It’s fall and that means we’ve hit the time of year dedicated to folk music. Tennessee-native Josiah and The Bonnevilles has been slowly but surely becoming staples in the folk/country music world since his debut EP released all the way back in 2016. While his sound has certainly matured since those early 2016 days, he hasn’t strayed too far from his acoustic-rooted identity which has proven to be a mainstay genre throughout the modern music era.

Along with his fresh, new cover album, “Country Covers II”, Josiah returns with Wilderado for a Harry Nilsson cover of “Everybody’s Talkin’”. The cover is tasteful in its simplicity and justice to an already masterfully written song. Josiah’s vocals take center stage here while he croons over minimal production. The song feels fresh in it’s up-to-date production and sometimes that’s all you need to revisit an old classic. The rest of the album includes covers like “Jesus, Etc” by Wilco, “Rocky Mountain High” by John Denver, and even “Good Luck, Babe” by Chapel Roan! This eclectic collection just goes to show the versatility that Josiah and The Bonnevilles bring.
