Dance rock is back. “Super Breath” is the first new track produced from the collaboration between legendary indie rock and fashion icon Karen O and superstar producer Danger Mouse.
If those names alone don’t pique your interest, maybe their resumé will. Karen O: Front woman of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, collaborated with The Flaming Lips, David Lynch, Christian Joy, Spike Jonze, etc. Danger Mouse: Produced Demon Days (Gorillaz), St. Elsewhere (Gnarles Barkley) which won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album, El Camino (The Black Keys) winning the Grammy for Best Rock Album, 25 (Adele), and plenty more.
This track comes ahead of the reissue of their Grammy nominated 2019 album Lux Prima (releasing September 20th). The reissue includes a 7” of “Super Breath” on the A-side and a previously recorded cover of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day” on the B-side. It also features a 16-page booklet highlighting the Encounter with Lux Prima at Los Angeles’s Marciano Arts Foundation, a four-day immersive event that served as a communal listening experience.
