This week’s Community Corner spotlight features The Store!
This time, Brother Love got to talk with CEO Collen Mayer.
The Store is a grocery store with a mission to nourish communities by providing nutritious food choices and access to supportive services in a sophisticated environment. As a community, The Store works to combat food insecurity around Nashville with respect and care. Not only do they provide food for the surrounding areas but founders Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley made sure to lay out thorough solutions for hunger and poverty in the area through this community through classes.
Mayer describes one of the most beautiful elements of shopping at The Store as bringing a dignified experience in which the person has a wide selection of items, creating a more well-rounded grocery run. On top of the food, there are also many household items to choose from ranging from hygiene products to greeting cards. Finally, there are different educational curriculums to choose from including budgeting, cooking, and planning!
The Store is looking to expand its efforts in the coming months to a second location. Because of this, more volunteers are needed and appreciated to help eradicate hunger in Middle Tennessee. Check out their website here where you can find more info on donating and volunteering opportunities.
