This week Brother Love is joined by Jeff Syracuse, president of The Friends of Two Rivers, a non profit organization in Nashville, dedicated to restoring, preserving, and promoting three historic local properties: The 1802 House, The Two Rivers Mansion, and Stone Hall.
This non-profit was founded by former District 15 Council Member, Phil Claiborn, in 2010, with the goal to maintain and preserve Nashville’s historic sites while also creating an engaging experience for the Nashville community. Their initial mission was to promote the use of The Two Rivers Mansion and its history in a way consistent with the Metro Department of Parks and Recreation as well as the Metro Historical Commission. Since then they have expanded their work to also restoring and preserving The 1802 House and Stone Hall.
At each location they offer tours and events, providing information about the historical sites. They have various packages that include guided tours, educational programs, and field trips. Guests are also able to reserve the space for private parties, weddings, corporate events, or for various film productions.
During this Halloween season they are offering the Moonlit Masquerade on October 31, where patrons can visit the Mansion and partake in drinks and ghost stories about the historical site. And this Christmas they will be having various holiday themed activities and themed nights to make the mansion more engaging for the community and families across Nashville.
You can get involved with The Friends of Two Rivers by donating, volunteering, becoming a member, or through a partnership with the organization. Visit their website to check out their upcoming events and get involved with their historical sites!
