Lightning 100 is excited to announce Kara Frazier as our Local Artist of the Week with her song “Coming Home” featuring Kenny Sharp! Kara was our runner-up at Music City Mayhem this year!
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Kara is now a Nashville-based singer-songwriter who blends blues-inspired vocals with soulful lyrics and instrumentation. The mix of the two leads to a unique discography that pulls listeners in with heartfelt songs that have a traditional and modern touch. She began releasing music in 2019, but art and music have always connected her to the world, as is evident in the timeless songs she continues to release. Kenny and Kara are both Mayhem alumni and have been teasing a collab for a while, and fans are excited to see “Coming Home” get its time in the sun.
The anticipated collaboration with Kenny Sharp, “Coming Home,” was released on April 22nd. The song blends together Kara’s heartfelt lyrics with Kenny’s soulful storytelling. With a country feel and modern sound, Kenny and Kara’s voices move as one throughout the song. The ryhthm section helps to carry the song, with a pedal steel excentuating that. The song truly blends together some southern roots with a modern feel. The song is next level, and with Kara and Kenny… who wouldn’t love that duo!
