Happy 2020 everyone! It’s not just a new year, it is a new decade and I am ready to shake things up. Not sure what that means yet – another baby, maybe I’ll go sky diving or buy a new car – but I’ll figure it out.
I do know one thing for sure. I am ready to get back into a routine and start exploring again. Don’t get me wrong, we LOVED California and all the family we got to visit with over the last few weeks, but there is nothing better than exploring Nashville with my boys. Plus there are a TON of cool things coming up including Chihuly coming back to Cheekwood in April and the opening of The National Museum of African American Music.

Time to get back in the pool! An inside pool that is. Goldfish Swim School in Franklin is offering Family Swim Fridays and Saturday this month. Kids swim for just $5, families for $15 and adults are free. You must make a reservation to swim. Check it out here

Family-Friendly and Yummy! I don’t know why it took us so long to get there but finally checked out Hunters Station in East Nashville. First off, it’s HUGE! Way bigger than I imagined. If you aren’t familiar, this is a food court located on Main Street right next to 5 Points. You can choose from The Grilled Cheeserie, Hugh Baby’s, Vui’s Kitchen, Tacos Aurora, The Picnic Tap and Citizen Market.

National Parks! If checking out National Parks is on your 2020 bucket list you can get in for free on these 5 days this year:

  • Jan. 20: Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday
  • Apr. 18: First day of National Park Week
  • Aug. 25: National Park Service Birthday
  • Sep. 28: National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11: Veterans Day

Which makes January 20 the perfect day to go check out Mammoth Cave. Did you know that Mammoth Cave is one of the most extensive cave systems on earth? There are over 400 miles of passageways. And, it’s less than an hour and a half drive from Nashville! Get all the details on how to get in for FREE here.
