Lightning 100 is proud to present Courtney Marie Andrews with her song “Keeper” as our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of The Week!

Valentine, Andrew’s newest album, will be out on January 16th. It was authentically recorded at Los Angeles Valentine Studios to 16- track tape. the two tracks released from Valentine have already made an impression. “Keeper” released on October 24th as the successor to “Cons and Clowns” on September 17th. Along with the upcoming album, Courtney Marie Andrews is taking the band on a 20+ date tour this spring to commemorate the occasion. Andrews is a veteran to the road, having played various instruments for a range of artists such as Jimmy Eat World and Milow. Andrew’s headlining tour is sure to be nothing short of spectacular in light of both her experience and the music being played.
Andrews is originally from Phoenix, Arizona, but comes to Nashville with a refreshing sound that straddles the lines of many genres. “Keeper” has the hooky elements of a pop song with the instrumentation of indie folk and quirky elements that border on psychedelia. Courtney Marie Andrews has a beautiful soprano voice that soars overhead on the choruses. As she sings the lyrics “I’m a keeper of your heart… of your secrets… in the dark” the listener is pulled into the otherworldly atmosphere of Courtney Marie Andrews’ vision. The sound is both timeless and explorative. “Keeper” features acoustic layers that are reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac. While bringing in electric elements of synth that implement excitement throughout the track. Through the varied yet symbiotic elements of this song, it’s clear that Courtney Marie Andrews has struck a balance that resonates, and in our books it’s a “Keeper.” Listen to the track all week on Lightning 100 and at the link below!
