This week’s Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week is The Criticals! Recently released EP Front Door Confrontations is filled with new-age rock tracks including standout “Clever Girl.”
Local band The Criticals have continuously proved themselves as a powerful duo. Since forming in 2018, they have released a multitude of musically diverse tracks that are packed with energy. The pair, Parker Forbes and Cole Shugart, have been friends for over a decade, and we are lucky enough to have the chance to spin their music here on Lightning 100.
“Clever Girl” ends the latest EP with a punch. Impeccably written and preformed, the track shines on the record. Straight forward and up-beat, the single was inspired by an overheard conversation. The single isn’t your classic indie-rock anthem, but instead a catchy song with addictive hooks. Never what you expect, The Criticals have yet again released a shining summer jam.
