Casey’s DJ pick this week is “Connection” by Jill Andrews. With a driving beat and feel-good lyrics, this indie-pop tune will put a smile on your face.

A prolific songwriter, Andrews’ music has been heard in shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Wynnona Earp, and The Originals. Starting her career in 2004, she co-founded the group The Everybodyfields. In 2009, Andrews formed a new band called Hush Kids, then put out her first solo album in 2010. She has continued to impress since, from the outlaw country tune “Tell That Devil” to the sweet and soft singer-songwriter track “Wrong Place, Wrong Time”.

Andrews prepares us for her upcoming album Modern Age with “Connection”, an introduction to the nostalgic overtones of the album. She gives us a peek into a modern love story with classic chemistry, an irresistible pull regardless of the difficulties. Modern Age calls back to a simpler time, a love letter to our beginnings while looking toward the future. She says of the album, “It’s a juxtaposition of childhood and adulthood. It’s the simplicities and complexities that surround both. And figuring out where I belong within it all.” Stay updated on all new releases and tour dates via Andrews’ website here. Check out “Connection” on YouTube below:
